“ Art is where the Heart is “. This is so true of Kells. The people have embraced the Kells Arts Club and it is now a permanent part of creative life in the town. Founded ten years ago, it attracts young and old, with events to please all tastes.
The Kells Arts Club celebrates all artistic endeavours. Events include Poetry readings, Literary lunches, Book launches, Music evenings , visits from well known artists, and themed events of all kinds. Members and visitors have enjoyed excursions and Art Gallery visits, and regular trips to films , theatre and concerts.
The Arts Club also has a Film Club who have monthly screenings in Kells.
Themed events include Burns Nights, James Joyce’s Bloomsday Breakfasts, a Viennese Ball, a Queen Charlotte Ball, Garden Events, and visits to other Arts Clubs and Festivals.
In addition to a busy Spring programme the Club is looking forward to a superb series of talks on The Story of Art, commencing on Mon Feb 19th.
Kells Arts Club works with Meath Arts Office, the United Arts Club of Dublin, The Byron Society , Bailieboro Poetry Society, Hinterland Festival.
